Program Overview
The President’s Scholarship for World Leaders (Graduate level) recognizes exceptional international students beginning their first graduate program at the University of Winnipeg. The award highlights both academic excellence and proven leadership outside the classroom. Note: Students in qualifying/pre-Master’s pathways are not eligible.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must satisfy these conditions:
- Be classified as an international student (non-Canadian citizen/permanent resident)
- Be entering their very first program of study at the University of Winnipeg
- Achieve a minimum admission average equivalent to 80% (Canadian scale), calculated from prior academic records (e.g., undergraduate transcripts for Master’s entry); the university’s international credential evaluators handle conversions
- For PACE (Professional, Applied and Continuing Education) applicants: Assessment based on post-secondary records as relevant
- Show strong evidence of leadership through extracurricular activities, community involvement, volunteer work, or similar experiences
- Submit a complete application for admission to the University of Winnipeg by the scholarship deadline (including all fees and required documents—admission is not complete until everything is received)
- Enroll and maintain full-time student status in the graduate program
- Not be in a qualifying year or pre-Master’s program (these do not qualify)
